Life Groups at GCC
A life group is a small group of people who gather together regularly in an informal environment to talk about their weeks, share a meal, study God's word, and pray together. Life groups often meet at homes, restaurants, or the workplace -anywhere a group decides to meet! Life groups come in all shapes and sizes, and no two are the same-married couples, singles, those with or without kids, under 30, over 50-and the list goes on. In the end where a group meets or how a group is designed isn't nearly as important as meeting together regularly and sharing life together.
Why join a life group?
The simple answer is because you were designed experience life with others. Whether you are outgoing or shy, young or old, married or single, you were created by God to live life with others. Joining a life group and building personal, real-life relationships with others has multiple benefits:
- Providing a safe place to have an open and honest dialogue regarding thoughts, questions, experiences, and doubts about our faith, the Bible, and life circumstances.
- Giving us opportunity to discover and foster our spiritual gifts.
- Promoting opportunities to serve others within the life group and practice the 59 'one-another' commands in the New Testament.
- Encouraging accountability for ourselves and the others in the group as we strive to grow more like Christ.
- Allowing us to pray for others and to be prayed for.
